Man charged following alleged drunk driving incident on Halloween

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man was arrested in Leland following an alleged drunk driving incident on Halloween.

According to Navass’a police chief, James Earl McLaurin was arrested following a wreck at Old Mill and Lincoln Roads.

McLaurin is charged with driving while impaired and fleeing to elude after police say he tried to get away from a Navassa police officer.

McLaurin has been given a $150,000 bond. Police said this is his second DWI arrest in October, with the previous arrest coming back on October 8th.
