Man charged with robbery with a deadly weapon

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say just before 3 a.m. Monday morning, a man tried to rob Shop-N-Go on Market Street.

The clerk told police Taofik Henry came up behind the counter and attacked her. She said she then tased the 36-year-old but he did not react to it.

She then ran outside to flag a police officer down. Police say the clerk was bleeding from the neck.

Henry is charged with with robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury and failure to appear on a misdemeanor.

He is being held under a $500,000 bond.
