Man charged with killing 8 puppies in New Hanover Co.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man is charged with killing eight puppies in New Hanover County.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jonathon Wade Tyler yesterday at his house on Eggert Ave. after getting a search warrant.

A spokesman said the dogs starved to death. According to the warrant, Tyler did not allow the puppies access to their mother to nurse, give them water, food or veterinary care. A spokesman said the eight coonhound puppies were about 1-2 months old. The warrant also said Tyler knew the puppies were sick which ultimately led to their death.

Tyler bonded out of jail.
