Report: Man overdoses on heroin, leaves infant alone in North Myrtle Beach home

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A North Myrtle Beach man is in jail and an infant in his care was placed in state custody after he overdosed on drugs with the child in the home, according to a police report.

An incident report from North Myrtle Beach Police says officers were called to 92 Hillside Drive South Thursday at 12:43 p.m. for a possible overdose. When officers arrived they found a man and woman both unresponsive in the bathroom of the home. The woman didn’t have a pulse and “was cold to the touch,” the report states.

The man, later identified as Christopher Ryan Griffin, 35, was barely breathing. Horry County Fire Rescue crews administered Narcan to Griffin and began patient care.
