Man convicted of first degree murder during 2015 home invasion

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A New Hanover County jury convicted Michael Malloy of first-degree murder and several other charges late Tuesday, according to a release.

The charges stem from a 2015 home invasion homicide in Ogden, according to the District Attorney’s office. Malloy was charged for the death of Yancey Edwards, who was shot multiple times and died from his injuries.
A release said Malloy will be sentenced and the complete list of charges will be read Wednesday morning.
