Man gets at least 43 years in Wilmington human trafficking case
WILMINGTON (Star News) — A Wilmington man was sentenced to more than 40 years in prison Wednesday after being found guilty of human trafficking charges involving four women.
Roderick Jermaine Boykins, 39, was was found guilty of human trafficking of a child victim, sexual servitude, promotion of prostitution on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the same jury found him guilty of being a habitual felon.
According to prosecutors there were four victims, including one who was a juvenile at the time of the offense. The trial in New Hanover County Superior Court lasted about a week.
