Man identified in fatal New Hanover County chainsaw accident

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the man who died over the weekend from a chainsaw accident.

55-year-old George Carlton from Tallahassee, Florida was injured while cutting a tree at a home on North Kerr Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Carlton later died from his injuries.

The sheriff’s office is still investigating.
