Man in serious condition after early morning shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that has a 30-year-old man in serious condition this morning.

A WPD spokeswoman said it happened in the 300 block of Kidder St. at 4:36 a.m.

Police said Shotspotter was alerted to several rounds fired. When officers arrived they found a large crowd running from the area.

Officers located the victim on the sidewalk and performed emergency medical aid until EMS arrived. The victim was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
