Man killed outside Wilmington barber shop


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Investigators with the Wilmington Police Department are on scene of a deadly shooting in front of a barber shop.

The incident is in the 800 block of Castle Street. WPD first alerted the public to the incident around 2 p.m. via Twitter.

Police say an unidentified black male was killed in front of the Lewis Barber Shop at the corner of 8th and Castle Street.

The barber shop shares a building with Rick’s Child Care and Learning Center. That facility is closed. No children were inside.

Police say no arrests have been made, but one person has been detained.
