Man pleads guilty to 2021 murder

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man pleading guilty to manslaughter in New Hanover County for a death that happened four years ago.
Quashawn Pearsall was shot in November of 2021 at at the Bennett village apartments in Wilmington. He later died at the hospital.
Ahmad Tate pleaded guilty Monday to voluntary manslaughter for the killing, and will serve at least four years in prison.
He will receive credit for time served, which amounts to about 3 and half years.
