Man stabbed, woman hurt trying to break up fight

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Investigators with the Wilmington Police Department say a man and woman are recovering from injuries after they tried to break up a fight between another man and woman.

Police say a domestic incident was reported in the 5500 block of Forest Avenue Thursday afternoon just before 1:30 p.m. They say two people tried to intervene in a fight between two others when the man was stabbed in the abdomen. The woman who also tried to intervene was also hurt, but the police didn’t have details on those injuries. Police say the man and woman who were originally fighting left the area.

There’s no word on the suspects’ descriptions.
