Man wanted after two people stabbed, vehicle stolen in Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — Authorities are searching for a suspect accused of stabbing two people and stealing a vehicle in Bladen County over the weekend.
According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, there was an altercation at a home on McAdams Drive in Elizabethtown, which led to two people being stabbed. Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have identified Elbert Lee Freeman, 39, of Elizabethtown as the suspect in the attack. Authorities say Freeman also stole a vehicle from a neighboring home, which has since been recovered.
The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office has obtained warrants for Freeman on two counts of felony first-degree burglary, felony attempted first-degree murder, felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and larceny of a motor vehicle.
Freeman is presumed to be armed and dangerous, according to the sheriff’s office.
