Man wanted for breaking and entering, theft
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man accused of multiple crimes.
According to a release, Sergio Juan Ramirez is wanted for his involvement in thefts from hardware stores. Police said he Ramirez is also accused of pawning the stolen items.
On May 10, deputies found his car in the 5100 block of Carolina Beach Road and attempted to stop it. The car drove away and ran off the road in the 200 block of Raleigh Street, where several passengers, including Ramirez, ran away.
Detectives said evidence also linked the suspect to a stolen van. They determined that Ramirez, along with two other suspects, stole the van from Pender County, removed the tools from inside and set fire to the vehicle on Plantation Road in New Hanover County.
Ramirez is described as a Hispanic man, around 5′ 9″ and 165 lbs with brown eyes and black hair. He has multiple tattoos, including one on his right forearm that says “Ramirez” and one on his left forearm that says “Southside”.
Ramirez is wanted for the following charges:
Felony Burning of Personal Property
Felony Conspiracy
4 counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense
Felony Flee to Elude
2 counts of Misdemeanor Larceny
Felony Breaking and Entering
Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
