Police looking for man using fake $50 bills

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A spokeswoman with the Wilmington Police Department said a man is trying to use fake money to buy food and goods in the Wilmington area.

Police say the man pictured here is accused of buying food at the Incredible Pizza on New Centre Drive last Wednesday with a counterfeit $50. They say later that day, he tried to use another fake $50 to buy something from Kendall’s Hallmark on S. College Road but was denied. About 30 minutes later, police say he used that $50 to buy food at Moe’s Southwest Grill on Oleander Drive. Finally, police say he tried to use a fake $50 to buy something at the Harris Teeter on College Road last Thursday but failed.
