Marco Rubio holding rally in Raleigh this weekend

RALEIGH, NC (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio is holding a rally with supporters in North Carolina this weekend.

Rubio’s campaign says the event is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Holshouser Building at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. The round building houses the “Village of Yesteryear” at the N.C. State Fair each October.

The U.S. senator from Florida already had events in Charlotte in September and has assembled a group of GOP supporters, including conservative donor Art Pope and state legislators Jason Saine and Andrew Brock.

Donald Trump held a rally at the fairgrounds last month, but the venue was Dorton Arena, where several thousand people came. The Holshouser Building has a smaller capacity.
