Martin Luther King Jr. Family Fun Day

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –Members of the Wilmington community gathered for a family fun day to celebrate the legacy of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. Despite the rainy weather, people came together at the Davis Center to enjoy music, dancing, and activities provided by local vendors.

The event, held ahead of the MLK holiday, also featured educational booths reminding the public of the significance of the day.

Pastor Cynthia Wells spoke about the importance of such events for younger generation, saying, “If you have a dream, it’s possible for it to come true. Martin Luther King represented bringing people together, no matter their race or background.”
