Mayfaire Town Center gears up for record crowds this Black Friday

NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY) — Once the big Thanksgiving meal is over tomorrow, lots of people will be gearing up for Black Friday, with retailers offering attractive deals to lure shoppers.  

Many shopping centers are primed for the rush, with doors open and eye-catching deals front and center. 

Black Friday is generally considered the most popular shopping day in the US. 

 More than 100 retailers at Mayfaire Town Center in Wilmington are offering door-buster sales and deep discounts. 

 Almost all retailers will have up to 40-50% discounts for Black Friday this year. 

 Paige Coniglio is the Marketing Director for Mayfaire. 

 She says this year’s Thanksgiving weekend is expected to draw even larger crowds than in previous years. 

“The National Retail Federation is reporting a record number of 186 million people planning to shop Thanksgiving weekend, so that’s over a 3 million increase over last year,” said Coniglio. 

Mayfaire Town Center will be open 8 AM-9 PM on Black Friday; 10 AM-8 PM on Saturday, and 12-6 PM on Sunday.
