Mayor of North Topsail Beach declares state of emergency

NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The mayor of North Topsail Beach has declared a state of emergency for the town.

Mayor Dan Tuman encourages residents to make preparations as soon as possible.

A mandatory evacuation will begin Tuesday at 8:00 a.m.

Due to the emerging town needs and movement of personnel, officials say townhall
may not be able to provide hurricane reentry passes after 12 p.m. on Tuesday.

Town officials warn if you plan to stay, emergency services will likely not be able to help you.
