McDonald’s employee gets billboard for 20th anniversary
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One New Hanover County woman is celebrating 20 years working at the same place. And she’s getting some pretty big gifts for the occasion.
Traci Knowles started at the Landfall McDonald’s back in 1998.
She was born with Down Syndrome, but is described as a very high-functioning woman.
Aside from her job at McDonald’s, Traci helps take care of her brother and mother, and is very active in the Special Olympics.
Dennis Anderson, who owns the McDonald’s, was very happy to celebrate this very special occasion.
“We talk about how do we honor each other, well with Traci, it’s natural. The customers love her, she honors the customers. The employees love her, she honors the employees. She’s a contributor, and she does a fantastic job. She’s a walking honorable person,” said Anderson.
Traci received balloons, cake and gifts.
One of those gifts, she will be featured on a McDonald’s billboard on Market Street for one week.
