MegaCorp Logistics is new naming sponsor of Miracle Field Stadium
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Miracle Field Stadium’s new name was unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday afternoon.
The newly named MegaCorp Stadium is sponsored by Wilmington-based company MegaCorp Logistics.
Members of Access to Wilmington, MegaCorp and the community were on hand for the ceremony.
The stadium is used by the Miracle League of Wilmington, which allows people with special needs to play organized baseball.
Wilmington Mayor Pro Tempore Clifford Barnett said this name change could help the community enjoy other sports and activities in the future.
“In general, it means that we may be able to build a stadium where we also can have indoor activities for those who need those,” Barnett said. “So having a company like Megacorp step up is important to our city and we thank them for doing that.”
MegaCorp CEO and founder Ryan Legg said supporting the community has always been important to both him and his employees.
“I had some friends who have children with special needs,” Legg said. “And, you know, my employees really believe in volunteering here and when I told them we were going to name it after our company, it really meant a lot to all them as well.”
MegaCorp will hold the naming rights for 10 years.
