Mexico Lindo restaurant in North Myrtle Beach destroyed by fire

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue and Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a commercial fire at the Mexico Lindo Restaurant on 1100 block of S. Hwy 17 Business Thursday night.

Firefighters on scene said there were 13 fire trucks called to the fire, with a total of 50 firefighters working to put the blaze out.

The ABC15 crew counted 10 police cars assisting with traffic as Highway 17 was shut down while crews worked to put out the fire.

Officials said the initial call went out at 9:19 p.m., with the flames being mostly under control within 45 minutes.

A police officer said the restaurant was closed at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries.

Officials have not determined the cause of the fire.

City spokesman Pat Dowling said it’s “going to take them a while to sift through what’s left.”

Daytime photos show that the building was gutted by the flames.
