Mind Travelers Reading Festival coming to MLK Center

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Storybook character come to life, to take children’s imaginations on a trip across the world.

The 3rd annual Mind Travelers Reading Festival is this Saturday at the MLK Community Center on 8th Street.

The festival is free and plans to have something for all ages.

Middle and high school students can participate in a “Spoken Word” poetry slam. The poetry should promote wholesome, fun family entertainment. They can also join the Mind Travelers Traveling Book Club.

Team First book and Lawyers 4 Literacy will also give away free books.

Snipes Academy basketball dribbling team will show off some tricks and Dram Tree Shakespeare will perform a scene from “Comedy of Errors” and puppet demonstration from “The Tempest.”

The festival is from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
