Miss Riverfest 2016 crowned on U.S.S. North Carolina

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington’s Riverfest is just a few weeks away and it has a new queen.

This weekend, Miss Riverfest 2015 Felicia Jones crowned Samantha Rapp aboard the Battleship North Carolina. Jones was the very first Miss Riverfest.

Jones said it was an incredible year that came and left entirely too fast. This is her advice for Rapp:

“Just to enjoy this time,” Jones said. “It’s fun. It’s going to be memorable. Just enjoy it, because it will fly by. I can’t believe how fast it flew by.”

Rapp is attending UNCW. She is studying education with a minor in law. She will represent Wilmington during the entire Riverfest weekend along with other events throughout the year.

Riverfest is October 8 and 9.
