Mission trip workers aim to complete 19 homes in one week


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Teenagers and adults from across the United States are here in Wilmington this week building and fixing homes for out community. Organizers said by the end of this week 164 volunteers will have completed 19 homes across the Wilmington community.

Mission Serve is a church based organization that provides mission work opportunities for teens and adults in the summer months.

“It’s a great opportunity for them to grow in their faith with the lord, opportunity to share the love of Christ in a practical way in a new city in a new community where they don’t live . And just an opportunity to grow closer as a youth group together in their local church,” said project coordinator Nathan Tuttle.

This week Wilmington is the target of the program. Organizers said the project has the help and support of the police and fire departments and they are truly hoping to do some serious good for folks in the Port City.
