MLK Community Center reveals new mural crafted by kids in the community

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A new mural at the MLK Community Center in Wilmington is hoping to share an important message.

Kids in the community have been working on the project since the beginning of the year.

Dozens attended an unveiling for the mural on Monday, including the family of Coach William E. Murphy.

Both Murphy and Martin Luther King Jr. were highlighted on the mural to honor their legacies.

On the mural, you’ll see a painted dove symbolizing peace. There’s also children painted to recognize all those who’ve called the center a second home over the years.
