MLK Jamfest wraps up at Union High

SAMPSON COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Union High School and Four County Electric presented the MLK Basketball Jamfest on Monday. This is a boys high school event only. It featured seven games with several local teams participating.

WILMINGTON, NC (CFCC RELEASE) — Cape Fear Community College held its annual MLK celebration with a men’s basketball matinee at the Schwartz Center on Monday as the Sea Devils cruised to an 85-65 win over Score Academy. Four different players finished in double figures for Cape Fear, who improved to 13-7 overall. Matt Lindsey led all scorers with 19 points, while Nate Sims and Anthony Vanhook chipped in with 14 apiece. “We struggled to get our energy going early, but found a way to get a little spark coming out of the half,” said CFCC Coach Ryan Mantlo.

The Sea Devils (1-1, 13-7) get back on the floor for a few more days of practice heading into a key conference game at USC-Salkehatchie on Friday, Jan. 23.
