CURRIE, NC (WWAY) — The Moores Creek Battleground Association is looking for volunteers to help with the celebration of America’s 250 anniversary.

Volunteers will take part during the three-day First in Freedom Festival taking place February 26 through February 28 at Moores Creek National Battlefield.

“This is going to be historic—and a fun, meaningful way to create lifelong memories while celebrating America’s 250th anniversary,” said Jason Collins, Chief of Interpretation, Education and Volunteer at Moores Creek National Battlefield.

Events will feature guided tours, living history demonstrations, special guest appearances like Outlander author Diana Gabaldon.

Moores Creek National Battlefield marks the site of the first Patriot victory of the Revolutionary War. The battle took place on February 27, 1776.

If you want to volunteer contact the battlefield at 910-283-1740.
