Moores Creek National Battlefield to host ‘Christmas Comes to Currie’ event Saturday

CURRIE, NC (WWAY) — Moores Creek National Battlefield will celebrate the holiday season this weekend with a special living history event highlighting Christmas traditions from the 18th century.
The park will host “Christmas Comes to Currie” on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Park staff, volunteers and living historians will offer demonstrations and programs showcasing how Christmas was celebrated during the colonial era.
Activities will include colonial Christmas cooking, 18th-century toys and games, candle making, period music and other hands-on demonstrations.
In addition to the living history programs, the park will also host a “Santa Comes to Currie” event. Families are invited to bring children to meet Santa at Moores Creek from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
