More foul weather in Baton Rouge; delayed start Saturday for UNCW baseball

BATON ROUGE, LA (WWAY) — For the second day in a row we’ve had foul weather in Baton Rouge for the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

UNCW’s game on Friday night didn’t start until 10:15pm, more than two hours late. It appears tonight’s UNCW-LSU winner’s bracket game will be a late start as well due to lightning and heavy rain in Baton Rouge. Saturday’s Lehigh-Tulane baseball game has to be completed first. There will be a 55 minute gap between the end of the Tulane game and the start of the UNCW-LSU game, and that’s assuming they try to get the UNCW-LSU game in this evening.

UPDATE 8:50pm:  Lehigh and Tulane will resume at 9pm EST. Game currently in 5th inning. A decision on UNCW-LSU will be made after the conclusion of the Tulane game.

UPDATE 10:20pm: The UNCW-LSU baseball game will start at 11:15pm EST.  Buckle up! Grab a pillow and stay up with the Seahawks.
