More than 20 pounds of marijuana seized from Pine Valley home
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Three people face charges after approximately 21 pounds of marijuana was seized during a drug bust at a home in Pine Valley Estates.
The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Division conducted a marijuana trafficking investigation over the past 6 months involving Marvin Gerald Waite Jr of Stonewall Jackson Drive.
On Friday, detectives executed a search warrant at the home.
The marijuana seized has an approximate street value of $50,000.
Detectives charged Gerald Marvin Waite, Jr., 36, with the following:
- 2 counts of trafficking marijuana
- 3 counts of conspiracy to traffick marijuana
- manufacture marijuana
- pwimsd marijuana
- felony possession of marijuana
- maintain a dwelling for controlled substance
Detectives also arrested Megan Dawn Waite, 32 and charged her with the following:
- 2 counts of trafficking marijuana
- 2 counts of conspiracy to traffic marijuana
- pwimsd marijuana
- conspiracy to sell marijuana
- felony possession of marijuana
- manufacture marijuana
- maintain dwelling for controlled substance
- possession of drug paraphernalia
They are each being held under a $350,000 bond.
Also arrested in the investigation is David Lewis Hamm, 35. He is charged with the following:
- conspire to traffick marijunana
- possession of firearm by convicted felon
- pwimsd marijuana
- manufacture marijuana
- maintain a dwelling for controlled substance
- possession of marijuana
- possession of drug paraphernalia
Hamm is being held under a $150,000 bond.
