Mother Earth Brewery earns top honor in the state for its whiskey

Mother Earth Brewery has won the title Best Whiskey in North Carolina at the International Whiskey Competition.

The company has been distilling barrel-aged whiskey for four years and recently moved to a bigger location. It takes about two years for Mother Earth distillers to age the whiskey to perfection.

“It’s kind of reassuring to us, how well we’re doing,” said Kevin “Big Shooter” Graham, head distiller of Mother Earth Spirits. “We’ve always known demand is high, this just reinforces it.”
