MrBeast becomes first production to film at Dark Horse Stages’ new space
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — YouTube star MrBeast is the first major production to utilize Dark Horse Stages’ newly opened Stages 3 and 4, the studio announced Friday.
The expansion adds more than 40,000 square feet of production space to Wilmington’s film industry.
MrBeast’s latest YouTube video, Every Minute One Person Is Eliminated, features past Beast Games contestants competing for a $500,000 cash prize. MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is from Greenville, NC.
The large-scale production showcases the capabilities of the new stages, the studio said.
“We were thrilled to host MrBeast and his incredible team for such a groundbreaking project,” said Kirk Englebright, president and CEO of Dark Horse Stages. “Our new stages are built with the utmost flexibility to accommodate everything from high-budget feature films to innovative digital-first content like MrBeast’s.”
The studio said MrBeast’s choice to launch his project at Dark Horse Stages highlights Wilmington’s growing influence in the entertainment industry and the need for state-of-the-art, adaptable production spaces.
