Mt. Calvary Center serves up fresh Thanksgiving food for those in need

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY-TV) – The Mt. Calvary Center’s Wilmington office hosted their annual holiday food distribution event on Monday.

The non-profit distributed free turkeys, chicken, canned food and fresh collards. The food was provided first come, first served.

Monday’s event lasted about a half hour before all supplies were donated to individuals in need.

Pamela Rivenbark was one of the recipients, she said she’s grateful for the meal her family received.

“It feels good to know that because people are suffering in the community there are churches and people that’s trying their best to help make sure that people have a good Thanksgiving,” Rivenbark said.

The Mt. Calvary Center will host another food drive on Tuesday at their office at 414 North Norwood St. in Wallace, North Carolina.
