Murrayville Elementary School celebrates 10 years
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Students, teachers, parents and alumni celebrate Murrayville Elementary School’s 10 year anniversary.
This morning the group gathered for a ceremony to honor all the hard work the faculty has dedicated over the last decade. Each teacher and staff member who had been with the school for its entirety was presented a yellow rose as well.
The elementary school’s band played Pharrell’s “Happy” and some students danced along as they all headed outside to snap an aerial photo.
“Today, it was special to do the number 10, you know everyone standing in the number 10. That was awesome seeing the kids happy and cheering in there. They love to get together like that,” said Donna Rhodes, who celebrated 10 years of service.
To commemorate this day for years to come, the group created a time capsule which was buried on school grounds.
