Myrtle Beach City Council unanimously passed an ordinance on Tuesday expanding the definition of resisting arrest.

The amended ordinance now includes obstructing or delaying police officers performing their duties as resisting arrest.

The previous ordinance definition could only be applied after someone was actually arrested.
