Myrtle Beach officials concerned as many fail to follow South Carolina’s golf cart laws
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) — While driving down nearly any road in the Grand Strand, it’s almost a guarantee to see a golf cart or two, however, lately there have been more complaints about people not following the state regulations.
“They’re not always focused on the rules and safety aspect of it they just wanna go out and have a good time,” Myrtle Beach Fire Department Captain Jonathan Evans said.
While it’s an easy way to take a short trip down the street or to the beach, Evans said that golf carts are being treated like cars and being taken on streets such as Kings Highway, which is against state regulations.
