N. Topsail beach access back open

NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Onslow County Parks and Recreation officials reopened a beach access closed due to the ongoing dredging work.

Officials say Beach Access #2 at North Topsail Beach was reopened yesterday. It was closed while crews worked on the ongoing shoreline protection project. Town leaders discussed the project last night; the town manager says they’ve only completed 1.7 miles out of the 3.8-mile-long project. A request for an extension has been filed with the Army Corps of Engineers.

Beach Access #2 is located on Island Drive.
