Name change for controversial UNC building now official
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) — The controversial name of a building on The University of North Carolina’s campus was officially changed Thursday.
Permanent lettering put on the former ‘Saunders Hall’ now reads ‘Carolina Hall’. The UNC Board of Trustees voted overwhelmingly for the name change in May.
The cost to rename the building was around $12,500, according to UNC officials.
