National Society Daughters of the American Revolution collecting scholarship applications

SUPPLY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick Town Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is accepting applications from college bound students for a scholarship.

Four awards of $1,500 are offered by the North Carolina DAR Cordon Street Endowment Gift Scholarship to U.S. students enrolled or entering in accredited technical schools, community colleges, colleges, or universities.

In order to apply, students will need to include a brief letter with their academic and career goals, official high school transcript, list of extracurricular activities, list of academic achievements and awards. They will also need to include a reference letter from a teacher or community leader.

NSDAR was founded in 1890 for women who can prove direct blood lineage from a Revolutionary Wat Patriot.

The organization as more than 190,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the world with 100 of those chapters in North Carolina.
