Natural Gas Rodeo held in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Natural Gas Rodeo took place in Wilmington this year, bringing together employees from Piedmont Natural Gas and Duke Energy for a series of competitive events.
Two-person and four-person teams competed in four qualifying challenges: service installation, meter setting, and a hand dig competition. The top teams from each category advanced to a final relay event.
Scott Faircloth, a supervisor with Piedmont Natural Gas, said the event is a way to be active in the communities they serve.
“The benefit of Wilmington is we love it because we have the battleship as the background, the Cape Fear on this side. We are in a community that we actually work in and serve. It’s a good time for all of our folks to get together and do some of the tasks that we do every day.”
The event was held at Battleship Park. Next year, the rodeo is scheduled to take place in Charlotte.
