NC Black Leadership Caucus announce peaceful march

WILMINGTON NC (WWAY)– The North Carolina Black Leadership Caucus announce a march to celebrate the anniversary of the “I Have a Dream” speech.

One member says it is more than just a celebration, because they are still fighting for justice. J C Brown says they are fighting for several families in the community that have lost family members to excessive force by police officers.

“What we are doing is peaceful,” Brown said. “Look at these families. They are just as peaceful. Guess what? The ones they killed, they were just as peaceful.”

They will be marching a peaceful protest on August 28th at 5:30 from Red Cross Street to the 1898 Monument Observance for a rally starting at 6:00.
