NC Coastal Federation needs watermen to help clean up lost fishing gear

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Coastal Federation is searching for commercial fishermen to help recover lost crab pots.

Watermen who are selected will help marine patrol remove lost gear from coastal waters during the “no potting” period, which is January 15 through February 7.

To qualify, you must have a valid standard commercial fishing license in the state.

There is also a mandatory training session.

Fishermen will receive $450 per boat per day.
