NC court system launches online service for speeding tickets
NORTH CAROLINA (WLOS) — There’s now a new way to pay speeding tickets, without ever setting foot inside a courtroom.
The North Carolina court system just launched a new online service pilot program.
Drivers who get stopped for speeding can now request reducing the ticket with a click of the mouse. No courthouse, prosecutor, or judge involved.
Any driver ticketed for doing no more than 19 miles an hour over the limit, at a speed of no higher than 80 mph may qualify.
The court sends back an email letting you know whether the request has been accepted.
