NC Delegate talks about GOP’s progress at RNC

CLEVELAND, OH (WWAY) —  A North Carolina delegate at the Republican National Convention says the party is headed in the right direction for November.

WWAY spoke with the North Carolina delegate Monday evening who is at the RNC this week.

Helen Punnullo is the 7th Congressional District Republican Chair. She told us via satellite that the big issues are safety in America and the world closely followed by creating jobs and improving the economy, and Punnullo says that the party is headed in the right direction for November.

“When it’s all said and done,” Punnullo said, “I would like to see unity come out of the party. The march toward unity has been progressing very well and I think with all the exciting speakers, with the nomination for the VP candidate in Governor Pence and Donald Trump, it’s going to be a winning ticket in 2016.”

When asked what is important for North Carolina and the United States, Punnullo said, “I think probably the most important issue, I really have to say there are two, because safety in America and the world is the most important issue and sharing that with jobs and growing the economy.”

The RNC runs through Thursday in Cleveland, Ohio.
