NC lawmakers consider making Daylight Saving Time year-round
RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — On the heels of losing an hour of sleep over the weekend, North Carolina lawmakers filed a bill to maintain Daylight Saving Time year-round.
Republican Reps. Jason Saine (Lincolnton), Kelly Hastings (Cleveland), and John Szoka (Cumberland) filed House Bill 350 Wednesday which calls for the state to observe Daylight Saving Time year-round.
HB 350 would eliminate the observation of standard time from November to March.
Similar measures have been filed in Legislatures across the country including Florida and Arkansas.

Last week in Washington, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio re-introduced a bill aimed at making Daylight Saving Time permanent across the country.
“If enacted, we would not ‘fall back’ in November and would enjoy a full year of DST, instead of only eight months,” the summary of the bill says.
The bill introduced by Rubio this year would eliminate changing clocks nationwide but would not alter or change time zones.
On Monday, President Donald Trump tweeted his support of year-round Daylight Saving Time.
Making Daylight Saving Time permanent is O.K. with me!
