NC man stabs girlfriend’s puppy during argument, police say

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) — A 33-year-old man faces charges after Rocky Mount police said he stabbed his girlfriend’s puppy during a domestic incident Tuesday afternoon.

Police said Marcus Johnson was in a verbal argument with his girlfriend when he took a knife and stabbed her puppy.

Johnson’s girlfriend took the dog to the vet for treatment.

Police said the dog is expected to be OK.

Johnson charged with felony animal cruelty and also for not complying with a previous court order.

He was booked in the Nash County Detention Center.
