NC Supreme Court amends mediation rule sets

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — The Supreme Court of North Carolina has approved amendments to five rule sets that affect mediations in North Carolina.
The Supreme Court’s orders were adopted on 11 December 2024, and the amendments become effective on 6 January 2025.
There are five rule sets addressed: the Dispute Resolution Commission, mediated settlement conferences and other settlement procedures in Superior Court civil actions, District Court family financial cases, matters before the Clerk of Superior Court, and Standards of Professional Conduct for mediators.
More than 7,400 Judicial Branch employees statewide administer justice in courthouses in North Carolina’s 100 counties.
