NCAA Women’s College Basketball Championship Game’s first time ever with more views then the Men’s Game

Cleveland, OH (WWAY) — The NCAA Women’s Championship game Sunday night saw huge numbers.

The title match-up between South Carolina and Iowa shattered previous ratings for women’s college basketball.

On average, nearly 19 million people watched the women’s game which peaked with just over 24 million viewers during the final 15 minutes of regulation.

That was 4 million more viewers than the men’s game averaged.

According to ESPN, it was the most watched women’s college basketball game ever.

It was also the most watched basketball game in 5 years, including both men’s and women’s college and pro games.
