NCDHHS says more than 130 flu-related deaths so far this season

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, there was an increase in flu-deaths.

On Wednesday, 63 more flu-related deaths were reported. This brings the total to 134 flu-related deaths so far in the flu season including three children.

This time last year, NCDHHS reported 74 flu-related deaths.

NCDHHS continues to urge all North Carolinians six months and older to get their seasonal vaccines and take preventative measures to keep you and your family safe.
