WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation is introducing a new way for residents, media outlets and community partners to stay informed about the Wrightsville Beach Bridge Replacement Project.

NCDOT announced it has launched a subscriber list that will provide real-time project updates through email and text messages. The new communication tool is designed to keep the public informed about construction progress, traffic impacts and other project-related developments.

The Wrightsville Beach Bridge Replacement Project includes the replacement of three key bridges that provide access to and from Wrightsville Beach. The project involves replacing two bridges along West Salisbury Street over Lees Cut and Banks Channel, as well as the bridge on Causeway Drive (U.S. 76) over Banks Channel.

According to NCDOT, the aging structures are being replaced to improve connectivity and provide a safer, more efficient crossing for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. The new bridges will include enhancements designed to better accommodate multiple modes of transportation.

Transportation officials encourage residents and stakeholders to sign up for the subscriber list through the project’s webpage to receive the latest information as construction moves forward.

Additional project details, updates and subscription information are available on the Wrightsville Beach Bridge Replacement Project webpage.
